Benita and Edward

This weeks wedding took us to the Bergen County Enviromental Center in Wyckoff. The bride Benita and the groom Edward got engaged here, and so decided to come back to the same spot on their wedding day.

We gave them memorable pictures that they will treasure whenever they think of this day. We hope they agree.

Beth and Dominic

Right from the start, we knew this was going to be a great wedding. The rain put a damper on our plans for outdoor pictures, but it certainly didn't dampen anyones spirits!

We were back again at Nanina's in the Park for the second time in as many weeks. The dance floor was packed most of the night thanks to the great crowd, entertained by Band of Gold.

The guests were also entertained by Beth (joining in to sing "We are Family")
as well as Dominic, who played the drums with the band.

Lisa and John

Lisa's wedding dress was amazing, it spanned the whole size of the room when she was getting ready. She stood on a low chest while her dress was being fluffed by several of her bridesmaids.

The ceremony took place at St. Mary's in Dover. I love the old world look of the doors.

The reception was at Flander's Valley. It was really cold out, but you couldn't tell from looking at these outdoor pictures. I'm sure they were keeping each other warm! We experimented a bit with the sky in photoshop; it came out looking very surreal.

Stacey and Shaun

Stacey and Shaun had a bright sunny day, which was perfect for their outdoor ceremony which took place at Nanina's in the Park.

As part of their marriage ceremony, they included a hand tying ritual, where their hands were tied together with a ribbon that is knotted. This is an ancient ceremony that is not seen much anymore, and is actually where the phrase "tying the knot" comes from.

On a side note, Stacy met us at the wedding of one of her maids of honor, Cressida, a former bride of ours. Stacy was the one of the brides maids at Cressida's wedding, which took place before she had met Shaun. Stacy's mom loves this picture because in it, she looks a bit dreamy, as if she's thinking that one day she would be the bride as well. It was great to see and talk to Cressida and Jeff again, along with her parents.

Debra and Jeffrey

Debra and Jeffrey had a perfect day without a single cloud in the sky. They both looked so radiant and happy.

Their day was full of tradition from signing the Katuba (the marriage contract)

to the ceremony itself, under the chupah.

The ceremony concluded with Jeffrey breaking the glass, and kissing his bride to shouts of "Mazal Tov"!

All were entertained by one of the guests who got up with the band and played some blues on the harmonica, and sang as well. He was fantastic, and played two sets during the night to everyone's delight.

The day wound down with another tradition called the Mazinka. This is a tradition where parents are honored when their last child is married. They wear wreaths on their heads, and sit while all the guests dance around them, and come by to congratulate them.
